Beef Steak with Apple and Zespri® Green Kiwifruit Sauce

Beef Steak Ingredients

  • 1 Zespri Green Kiwifruit for garnish
  • 400 g (14 oz) rib eye beef

Sauce (a) Ingredients

  • 2 Zespri Green Kiwifruit, peeled
  • 1 apple
  • ½ onion
  • A little ginger

Sauce (b) Ingredients

  • 100 ml (3½ oz) soy sauce
  • 100 ml (3½ oz) mirin
  • 100 ml (3½ oz) rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tsp cornflour (corn starch)

Serves: 4

Beef Steak with Apple and Zespri® Green Kiwifruit Sauce

Directions

  1. Sauce (a). Cut in small pieces and place in a blender, until smooth.

  2. Mix (a) and (b) in a pan and heat. Stir, until thick

  3. Cut beef in 2 cm (¾ inc) dice, grill then combined with the sauce.

  4. Slice another Zespri® Green Kiwifruit and grill then decorate with beef.
