Zespri® Kiwifruit Ma-Haw

The royal Thai d’oeuvres with simple preparation; top-grade pork mixed with variety seasonings and complete flavour placing on the kiwi sliced into bite-size.


  • 2 Zespri Green Kiwifruit, finely chopped.
  • 5 Zespri Green Kiwifruit, cut crosswise (approximately 0.5 mm. thick)
  • 20 grams ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon ground roasted peanut
  • 10 grams palm sugar
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 7 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • Red chilli / coriander if desire

Serves: 10

*Ma-haw is an appetizer that is uniquely Thai. It is made of sour fruits cut into bite-size with the stuff as topping.

Zespri® Kiwifruit Ma-Haw


  1. Heat the oil, pour in the garlic, and gradually add the ground pork and chopped Zespri Green Kiwifruit. Wait until the pork is cooked, add the ground roasted peanut and stir-fry for good scent.

  2. Season with palm sugar and fish sauce; stir-fry all mixtures until they are well mixed.

  3. Turn off the heat and wait until it cools down.

  4. Serve by placing the Ma-Haw* stuff on Zespri Green Kiwifruit sliced crosswise; garnish the topping with coriander and red chilli sliced obliquely.
